Cross Country Results
An early start on a very cold crisp day saw 42 St John's students set off to Gosfield School to compete in the ISA
East
Anglian Cross Country Championships.
Despite the icy weather all the pupils were in good spirits and gave their all on the day. This was the first time Mr Murray had attended the event and he was taken aback by how proud he felt of the runners that represented the school.
All of the pupils completed the course and many of our athletes finished in the top 20.
The following students missed the cut for the National Cross Country Championships by only a few places.
Grace Leigh - 18th place
Olivia Sanders - 15th place
Taylor Curran - 13th place
Michael Vanderhook - 20th place
Lucie Chapman - 16th place
Max Bailey - 11th place
Ross Elsom - 14th place
The following students were in the first 10 places and will represent our school at the National Cross Country Championships.
Johnny Windham - 5th place
Teddy Papple - 9th place
And Louis Yuill 1st place - who received a medal for his fantastic effort.
International Cricket
St John's School is delighted to welcome England International Cricketer Lydia Greenway to the school for a coaching session for the girls to help ready them for the upcoming ECB Taverners Girls Competition.
Lydia is an England International Cricketer, a left handed batsman and occasional off spin bowler. She has appeared for England in 7 Test matches and 32 One Day Internationals.
We are looking forward to an exciting and interesting coaching session and hope to have our very own Girls Cricket Club in the near future.
The School would like to congratulate all pupils who took part in the day and thank them for the determination,
effort and support they showed during the Championship.

St John's School is proud to announce that Jack Shiner in Upper 4 has been selected for the Essex Under 14 Cricket XI. Jack is an opening bat and was nominated for a County Trial in the winter and after a vigorous selection process, gained a place in this prestigious team.
