What’s happening in the Drama Department?
Break A Leg!
On Sunday 8 March 50 of our students will be taking their LAMDA Examinations. These range from Introductory Level to Bronze Medal which is the equivalent of an AS Level.
Mrs Manders and Mrs Zoller wish all their students success!
‘Murder!, she wrote.
Rehearsals are now in full swing for the Summer Production, a musical, murder-mystery entitled, ‘One Wedding and Two Funerals.’ Mrs Schultz and Mrs Zoller are really enjoying working with the cast. It’s a big one – nearly thirty students, and consequently many rehearsals are for just a small number but they’re all enthusiastic and a pleasure to work with.
Henry Hoggett, the bride’s father, is worrying about the expense of so many wedding guests but is economising by utilising the pork from his own farm for the wedding feast and wine from a local vineyard. Guests can look forward to sampling this fare at Billericay’s ‘wedding of the year’ when Henry’s daughter, Jewel, will wed Roger, son of socialite and former ‘It girl’, Abigail Windsor.
Entertainment at this up market bash will be provided by no other than ‘The Condiment Girls’ famous for so many hits in the 80’s: ‘Sauce Up Your Life’ and ‘I’ll Tell You What I Need’, to name but a few.
No doubt you are already planning your outfits for this prestigious event. Invitations to family, friends, and anyone else that Abigail can muster, will be going out at the end of May.
Be there or be …. at home watching Eastenders?
Didn’t we have a luvverly time …
In January we ran a trip to see ‘The Woman in Black’ at the Palace Theatre. An excellent performance of a very clever play in a beautiful Edwardian theatre made this a great afternoon.
